• About Spider Plant: Spider plant (Chlorophytum comosum) is a popular evergreen perennial houseplant with narrow, strap-shaped leaves growing out of the base of the plant. The mature plants start to grow long, thin draping stems with small leaves and spectacular plantlets, which look like spiders (then the plants are so named) which grow air roots or can be easily rooted in a potting mix. Their thick, fleshy rhizomes store water for handling drought conditions.

• Care Tips. Spider plants do very well with a wide range of soils and grow best when lightly pot-bound. Feed the plants monthly during the growing season with a houseplant food. Spider plants can tolerate temperatures ranging from 35°F to 90°F and prefer temperatures between 65°F –75°F.
